Hikvision / EZVIZ

Two Node.js tools for Hikvision and EZVIZ cameras: one recovers playable video from the SD card, the other downloads and unpacks the firmware.

  1. SD card video extractor

4 stars on GitHub JavaScript MIT

    yrambler2001/hikvision-ezviz-sdcard-video-extractor

Extracts playable video files from Hikvision/EZVIZ SD cards directly, without re-encoding and without npm dependencies. The output plays in QuickTime.

    • Parses the card’s index00.bin (v2 and v3) and retrieves every recording segment
    • Optional time-frame filter; optional merge per day, split by maximum size
    • Converts to .mov and switches HEVC hev1 to hvc1 for QuickTime
    • Requires Node.js 20 or later and FFmpeg
  2. EZVIZ firmware download & extract

    2 stars on GitHub JavaScript

    yrambler2001/ezviz-firmware-dav-download-extract

Downloads Hikvision/EZVIZ digicap.dav firmware from the EZVIZ cloud API and unpacks it down to the SquashFS root filesystem.

    • ezviz-firmware.js lists devices and downloads only pending upgrades, MD5-verified
    • unpack-dav.sh strips the .dav container and unpacks the root filesystem, using Docker when needed
    • Documents one build end to end: the DS-2CD2443G2-IW-W and its V5.3.8 firmware
